Hello! I’m Kristin
Hello! I’m Kristin, and I am excited for where your journey is about to take you! I can say this because my own journey began similarly to yours, by taking a step toward mental and emotional healing through the therapeutic process. I know how daunting this decision can be. And I also know how life changing it can be. I understand how negative thoughts and emotions can rob you of your happiness and joy. I understand that, while anger may bring a brief feeling of power, when held too long it can turn into bitterness and resentment. I have heard the lies that fear, shame and guilt have whispered in my ear, and I have expended tremendous energy trying to hide from the world because of its criticism and judgment.
You will find no criticism or judgment here. I will do all that I can to offer you unconditional acceptance wherever you are on your journey.
A little bit about me – I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), a certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapist (TIYT), and am currently working toward training and certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Because I believe that there is no one “right” therapeutic model for every client, I employ a variety of approaches to one’s healing including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT), and Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT).
My bachelor’s degrees are in Integrative Biology and Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling from Denver Seminary.
When not in the clinic I am an avid outdoorswoman. I find rest and renewal when surrounded by God’s creation, and spend much of my time skiing, biking, and hiking with my husband and our labradoodle, Teagan (on her way to becoming a therapy dog!). I also have a dedicated yoga practice, and believe deeply in the power of prayer and meditation.
