My name is Rachael Valencia and I love being a therapist.

When I was younger, I worked with my dad who is a physical therapist. I was so impressed with the therapeutic process and the way he helped heal his patients’ hurting bodies, and I knew that I too wanted to be in the business of health and healing. Now, several years later, I get to work with individuals who have inside hurts and pains that cannot always be seen. Journeying through the therapeutic process with my clients is incredibly rewarding to me.

I have a passion for supporting children, teens, young adults, and parents who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, behavioral problems, relationship concerns, and trauma-related symptoms. I typically look at cases through an attachment and trauma-focused lens and I help my clients heal the parts of themselves that they want to address. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy), Play Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I received my undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and my graduate degree from Brenau University. I am and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy exploring the beautiful Colorado mountains with my husband and dog, Huey. My husband and I also enjoy biking, boating, trying out new restaurants, and hitting up summer festivals. I really love spending time with my family and I take every opportunity I can to be with my people.
