Marriage & Family Therapy Candidate | EMDR Trained | Problematic Sexual Behavior | Betrayal Trauma | Emotion Focused Couples Therapy | Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy | Symbolic-Experiential Therapy | Group Therapy
Hi, I’m Alex and I love being a couple, marriage, and family therapist. I have been learning about and practicing therapy since I started my master’s program at Utah State University in 2016. I am currently finishing a doctoral degree in CMFT at Texas Tech University. At my core, I believe everyone is deeply good, worthy of love, and capable of change. With that said, sometimes people do harmful things, loving each other and ourselves can be hard, and change can seem impossible. While therapy is no antidote to life’s challenges, it has certainly helped me and millions of others live more meaningful and healthy lives.
My approach to treatment is informed by cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, EMDR, and symbolic-experiential modalities. While I specialize in helping people seeking treatment for infidelity, sexual betrayal trauma, and compulsive sexual behaviors, I am ultimately passionate about helping my clients with all things related to mental and relational health.
Outside of therapy, I am a nerdy, outdoorsy, family man. During my off hours, I can be found cycling, climbing, reading, traveling, napping, gaming with friends, and involving myself in the community. I am the grateful husband of an inspiring woman and the father of an incredibly sweet boy. Spending time with them deeply recharges my soul. I love my family, my God, this beautiful earth, and the people on it. I’d love to get to know you and, if you’re open to it, maybe even grow together.
