Kathi Hansen
Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate I EMDR I Relational Life Therapy (RLT) I Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS-care)
I love facilitating and witnessing the significant change that comes through conscious choice, healthy cognitive beliefs, and proactive behaviors: it is a privilege to work with individuals toward their intentional Becoming! I believe deeply that learning and practicing healthy relationship - with self and with others - is essential for each of us to reach our potential. My own difficult and beautiful life experiences have provided me with a firsthand knowledge that growth and healing are work worth doing. Sharing this therapeutic space changes and grows us both.
In addition to being a counselor, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother: I grew up in a large family and, as a military dependent, moved all over the country and internationally. I have lived in Colorado for 25 years and love all things outdoors, reading, interior design, and travel.
I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree in Family Science and an emphasis in Biological
Foundations of Human Development, and completed my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling at Adams State University. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA); in Relational Life Therapy (RLT); and in Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS-care). I offer a client-centered, holistic approach based in relational-cultural, neurological, emotion-focused. and family systems frameworks. My commitment is to optimize client agency and empowerment through experiential interventions and a strong counseling connection.
