CALL:
Kathi Hansen
Professional Counseling Intern
Therapy is a courageous and beautiful endeavor! I love witnessing the significant change that comes through conscious choice, healthy cognitive beliefs, and proactive behaviors: it is a privilege to work with individuals in their personal, intentional becoming! I believe deeply in the importance of relationships - with self and with others - in development. Personally, my difficult as well as beautiful life experiences have allowed me both to need and to experience personal and relational growth and healing. I know it to be a work worth doing.
In addition to being a counselor, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother: I grew up in a large family and, as a military dependent, moved all over the country and internationally. I have lived in Colorado for 25 years and love all things outdoors, reading, interior design, and travel.
I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree in Family Science with an emphasis in Biological Foundations of Human Development. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling at Adams State University, and plan to begin training for certification in EMDR and in Gottman Relationship Methods within the next few months. I offer a client-centered approach based in cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, relational-cultural, and family systems frameworks. My commitment is to optimize client agency and empowerment through experiential interventions and a strong counseling connection.
